The Highly Anticipated Basement Bar & Music Venue Welcomes Guests on Wednesday, June 21st
The Restoration Asheville is proud to announce the opening of The Draftsman, one of three onsite food and beverage concepts in their brand-new boutique hotel. With their main entrance along Commerce Street, The Draftsman provides a venue where hotel guests and locals rub elbows and share stories within this historic, laid-back basement bar and lounge.
The Draftsman boasts 3,264 feet of indoor space, including two bowling lanes that span the length of the space, and accommodates up to 325 guests. The lounge also features points of nostalgia with vintage arcade games like Skee-Ball and Ms. Pac-Man to enjoy over a few rounds of beer. From a programming standpoint, The Draftsman will feature live music each week, and host local bowling leagues kicking off in late summer 2023. While The Draftsman’s bowling lanes are still in progress, the property has an expected completion date of August 2023.
“The Draftsman is our hotel’s community room,” adds Nikki P. Stewart, General Manager at The Restoration Asheville. “Between the programming and relaxed environment, we’re excited to deliver a new way for locals and guests to connect organically.”
Under the direction of Beverage Manager, Darren Fallon, their eclectic cocktail program gives a nod to bowling culture and includes original creations such as That’s a Strike, Ten to One White Rum, Dry Curacao, Giffard Peche, Batavia Arrack, Strawberry Syrup, Pineapple, Lemon, the 7-10 Split, Banana Infused Jameson, Strawberry-Pineapple Syrup, Condensed Milk, Tempus Crème de Cocoa Vanilla, Cherry Walnut Bitters, and the Bowl-evardier, Elijah Craig, Amaro di Angostura, Nonino.
Guests will also be able to create their own Charcuterie Board with local accouterment from artisanal purveyors such as Lusty Monk, Goodnight Bros., and Ashe County, or delight in one of their signature snacks such as Buffalo Cauliflower, Fried Cheese Curds, or Hot Pocketz, and a selection of woodfired pizzas.
The Draftsman’s operating hours are Monday through Friday 3pm until late, and 11am until late Saturday and Sunday, and is located at 68 Patton Avenue, Asheville, North Carolina 28801.
